House rules.

CINQ (“we”, “us”) runs cinq.watch, the CINQ apps for iPhone and Android, and the CINQ browser extension (together, “CINQ”). These terms are a contract between you and CINQ. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and is part of these terms.

1. Who can use CINQ

CINQ is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have an account or use CINQ in any way, including CINQ+ Match, and you confirm your age when you sign up. We may ask for proof of age, and we close any account we believe belongs to someone under 18. Our Child Safety Standards explain how we act on anything that puts a child at risk.

You are responsible for your account: keep your password private, keep your details accurate, and tell us at support@cinq.watch if you think someone else has used it.

2. Your content

You own what you post: reviews, posts, messages, photos, your watch history and profile. You give CINQ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and distribute that content inside CINQ so that the service works and other members can see what you chose to share. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for a short period and content other members have already received, such as messages you sent them.

Only upload what you have the right to share. Recordings, screen captures or streams of films and shows are not allowed anywhere on CINQ, including in watch parties and channels. Watch parties synchronise playback of content you each stream from your own subscription; CINQ never transmits the video itself.

3. Be decent

No harassment, hate, threats or doxxing.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We remove it, close the accounts involved and report it to the authorities, as our Child Safety Standards describe.
No spam, scams, impersonation, fake accounts, or automated scraping.
No nudity or sexual content in profiles, posts or Match.
Treat people you meet through CINQ+ Match with care. Meet in public places, tell someone where you are, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may do so without notice where safety is at stake. You can report content or people from any profile, post, message or watch party, or by email.

4. CINQ+ subscription

CINQ+ costs US$5 per month, billed in advance to the card you give our payment processor, Stripe. It renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the CINQ+ page; you keep CINQ+ until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. We do not refund partial months, except where the law requires it or CINQ+ was unusable because of a fault on our side, in which case email us. Prices may change; we will tell you at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

During early access we may offer CINQ+ free for a limited time. Free access can end at any time and does not entitle you to a refund or a continued free period.

5. The browser extension

The CINQ extension runs on streaming sites you visit so that CINQ can recognise what you are watching, keep your place in each episode, and run watch parties beside the player. It works only on the streaming sites listed in the extension, and only when you have connected it to your CINQ account. You can turn detection off in Settings, disconnect the extension from any page it runs on, or remove it from your browser at any time. The extension never records, copies or transmits video or audio from any streaming site.

6. The CINQ apps

The CINQ apps for iPhone and Android bring CINQ to your phone, with a few things only a phone can do: finding friends from your contacts, notifications, and using your phone as a remote for a TV on your Wi-Fi. These terms apply to the apps too. The apps are also subject to the terms of the store you got them from. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for CINQ, its content or its support.

7. Streaming services and third parties

CINQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV, Paramount+, Crunchyroll, MGM+, History, Tubi or any other streaming service, store or television platform. Their names and logos belong to them. Watching anything through those services requires your own subscription and is governed by their terms, which you agree to follow, including any rules they have about browser extensions and shared viewing. “Buy or rent” links open a store’s own page; the purchase is between you and the store.

Film and TV data is provided by TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Trailers are provided by YouTube under YouTube’s terms.

8. CINQ’s own accounts

CINQ runs a small set of internal and AI accounts of its own. They are not shown to members and do not message, match or interact with members.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings, in the apps or on cinq.watch, or ask us by email; Delete your account explains how. For 30 days it is hidden and can be restored by signing in again; after that it is permanently erased, along with your content, except for what we must keep for legal, billing or safety reasons. You can also choose immediate permanent deletion. Deleting your account cancels CINQ+ billing straight away.

10. What CINQ is not

CINQ is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that any recommendation, match or party will turn out the way you hope. To the fullest extent the law allows, CINQ is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for anything that happens between members, online or in person. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid CINQ in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Changes, disputes, contact

We may update these terms. For material changes we will post a notice on cinq.watch or email you at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to do otherwise. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
